This policy covers the IFC – Imports From China Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at https://importsfromchina.com/mcp (also reachable at https://mcp.importsfromchina.com/mcp), and the IFC app in ChatGPT, which AI assistants use to look up Indian import duty and estimate landed cost. It is operated by IFC – Imports From China Inc. (“IFC”).
What we collect
- Tool inputs sent by your AI assistant: HS codes, product search words, invoice value, currency, shipping mode, volume and weight. These are used only to answer the request.
- Technical data: the IP address of the calling service, used to limit each address to 60 requests per minute. It is kept in a temporary counter for about 90 seconds. Our web host may also keep standard server logs, and requests to mcp.importsfromchina.com pass through Cloudflare, which processes them under its own privacy policy.
The server does not require a login, does not use cookies, and does not ask for names, phone numbers, email addresses or payment details. Please do not send personal information in tool inputs.
How we use it
Only to calculate and return duty and landed-cost estimates, to protect the service from abuse, and to fix errors. We do not sell or rent this data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Sharing
We do not share tool inputs with third parties. The AI assistant you use (for example Claude or ChatGPT) receives our answers and handles your conversation under its own privacy policy.
Retention
Rate-limit counters expire after about 90 seconds. Server logs, if any, are kept by our hosting provider for its standard period and then deleted. We do not store tool inputs in a database.
Your choices
You can stop using the server at any time by removing the connector from your AI assistant. For questions or requests about your data, contact us.
